Transform Your Life: Complete Monthly Goal Setting and Reflection Guide

Ever feel like your personal goals never get accomplished? I used to be the same way. Homework, chores, or helping others? No problem! But when it came to my own dreams, I’d push them aside or do them half-heartedly. As a natural dreamer, this lack of follow-through stunted my growth.

Everything changed with monthly goal setting and learning to respect my own time. In my latest youtube video, I share my complete monthly reset routine, from prayer and reflection to goal setting and business planning. Here’s a sneak peek!

Prayer and Reflection

I start each month with prayer and reflection, aligning my goals with what matters most to me. Currently, I’m reading “33 Days to Greater Glory,” which helps me focus my daily actions towards my highest values. For me, it’s about aligning everything with my faith, but you can adapt this to fit your own value system.

Business Planning

I juggle several entrepreneurial ventures: real estate, an affordable housing project, YouTube, coaching, and an Etsy shop. While not all happen simultaneously, I create action plans for each, ensuring they align with my overall vision. I define short-term (weekly), mid-term (2-month), and long-term (1-3 year) goals. This structured approach helps me stay on track and evaluate progress consistently.

For example, my 3-year goal for YouTube is to build a support team. My 1-year goal is to transition content to focus on living a good and beautiful life. My 2-month goal is to launch a website with weekly blog support (you’re reading this achieved goal)! Weekly, I aim to write and edit two videos, staying two weeks ahead.

Goal Setting

Setting goals is the most fun part! I review my previous month’s goals, reflect, and set new ones. I use a “goals journal” to brainstorm and prayer journal daily, keeping my goals aligned with my overall vision.

For instance, learning Igbo is a big life goal. In May, I focused on listening and learning new phrases. In June, I aimed to speak daily. For July, my goal is to have weekly Igbo conversations with my parents. This makes the goal tangible and achievable.

I reward myself with treats for every accomplishment and keep a visual reminder of my goals above my desk. I also make a Pinterest board and set it as my phone background for added motivation.

Finding Your Retreat

I dedicate at least two hours of peace and quiet to this process, treating it as a monthly retreat.
